FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Payment can be made via Yoco, Payfast or Snapscan.

Yoco and Payfast are secure, third party online payment services.  Both leading payment gateways offer fast, secure payment processing via selected credit  or debit cards (Visa and Mastercard). PayFast also allows you to make payments via instant EFT. When you select the Yoco or PayFast option at the checkout point, you’ll be redirected to the respective websites.

SnapScan is a payment app that can be used on android or iPhone mobile devices. Once you have downloaded the app to your phone, you will need to upload all of your details (including a scan of your bank card) before you can transact. The process will take approximately three minutes.

Products held in your basket are not reserved.  Once you have selected a product and added it to your cart, please proceed to check out in order to secure your purchase. The product will remain in your cart, however, will be available to other buyers for purchase.  The first buyer to ‘checkout’ the product will secure the item.

When you have finished your shopping click ‘Checkout’. You will not be prompted to create an account however you will be requested to provide your details.  Please refer to our Privacy Policy if you feel uncomfortable in doing so. 

Checked out products will only be dispatched once payment has been received in full, including delivery services.

Retro Lane is a small, start-up online service, based in the Overberg, Western Cape, South Africa and as such, we have made every effort to keep our shipping service as simple and cost effective as possible.  We make use of a courier service and courier to all parts of South Africa only.  The cost of the courier service is in addition to the sale price and will be calculated  on receipt of the order.  

We do not deliver items via SAPO or Postnet.

We are unable to process international orders via our online store. In order to receive an international courier quote, please contact our office directly.

Products are couriered once a week, normally on a Wednesday, with tracking details sent the following  day. Delivery times range from 3 to 5 days depending on your region.  Please note that purchases will only be dispatched once payment for postage services has been received in full.

Rates to National Areas

We charge a flat rate of R110 per parcel, regardless of region.

Collections

We are able to accommodate collections from our base in Napier, Overberg, Western Cape.  We will contact you directly on receipt of your order to make arrangements.

When placing an order you are accountable for providing the correct delivery address, a telephone number and an email address. These details are of the utmost importance as it allows us to contact the relevant person in case of any difficulty with delivery. Retro Lane will not be held responsible if the provided information is incorrect, causing the parcel delivery to be delayed or lost, nor for any costs incurred relating to such an event.

Our products are packed with the greatest of care.  On the rare occasion that an item is damaged during transport, we request that you get in touch with us within 24 hours from the delivery date in order for us to resolve any problems quickly and effectively.

Protocols for Covid-19

In order to reduce the risk of transmission, Retro Lane will ensure that the correct protocols are followed when handling and packing items and will be sanitized according to regulation.  We ask that all customers follow the correct procedures when receiving their goods.  Kindly ensure that the receiver is wearing a face mask, that social distancing is practiced and that you wash your hands after handling your parcel.

Items are sold as is and by nature of their status may contain flaws.  Only products damaged during transport may be considered for return.

Kindly notify us within 24 hours of receiving the order of any damages that may have been caused during transport.

A refund or credit may be issued at the discretion of Retro Lane.

Should you wish to make any changes to your order, this must be done within 24 hours of your purchase.

RETURNS

A selection of products offered for sale on Retro Lane are second hand.  While great care is taken to select items in good condition, by nature of their status products may contain flaws.  By purchasing our products you agree to respect and understand that flaws are existent, so long as they are reasonable.

Photographs of the products may be altered in order to present them in their best possible light. By making a purchase the buyer acknowledges that these standard operating practices may apply, and that the actual product received may vary slightly from advertised materials. That said, we do our best to present our products in an honest manner.

All photographs are our own unless otherwise indicated.  Only the product/s described are for sale and any props or additional items used in the photographs are for aesthetic purposes only and are not for sale.

The prices displayed on our website are quoted in ZAR (South African Rand).  Prices may be changed at any time without prior notice, and in this case the updated prices will apply.

Retro Lane is committed to protecting your privacy.   Personal information collected on this site is used for the purpose of: processing transactions; providing customer service; to communicate with you regarding your transactions, new products and services including transactions; related communications such as welcome letters, billing reminders, and purchase confirmations; and we may also send you marketing emails to inform you of new products or services or other information or offers that may be of interest.

If you do not wish to receive marketing emails, you may at any time request to be removed from our mailing list.

Retro Lane will not disclose your personal information to any third-parties except to those service providers who perform services on our behalf, for example postage and delivery services.
