The Jasba Keramikfabriken was founded in 1926 by Jakob Schwaderlapp, near Koblenz in Western Germany.    Popular early lines included ‘Cortina’ and ‘Jaspatina’.  The primary designers were Cilli Wörsdörfer in the 1950s and Christiane Reuter in the 1960s.  Wörsdörfer’s pieces tended to be produced in matte glazes with sedate colors.  Around 1960, Jasba started a line called “Bunte Welt der Keramik” (Colorful World of Ceramics), which featured brightly colored shiny glazes and coincided with Reuter taking over as designer.  Jasba ceased production of art pottery in 1971, however the company still exists, primarily involved in the manufacture of tiles.
