Retro Lane began with a simple idea — that the things we use every day should make us smile. Not just be useful, but feel good to own, give and enjoy.

I’m Carol, the designer and maker behind Retro Lane. Working from my sunny little studio in Simon’s Town, I create bold, geometric designs inspired by the graphics of the 60s and 70s — layered shapes, confident colours, and a mid-century modern sensibility that feels both nostalgic and fresh.

Every design starts as a digital illustration and ends up on something practical and giftable — notebooks, cards, gift tags, stickers and small gifts, all made in small batches with a lot of colour and care.

Retro Lane is for gift givers, colour lovers, and anyone who thinks life is better with a little more personality in it. I hope something here makes you smile.
